Was There a Historical Jesus (THE CASE FOR)? We've paraded some of the best mythicists on the program to prove Jesus is nothing more than another incarnation of Mithras, Dionysus, Osiris and other rising/dying godmen. Now it's time to allow a defense for the reality that there might have been an itinerant, Galilean preacher in the first century whose words changed history. Using textual evidence, archeology and historical data, we travel far and wide for the historical Jesus and what happened to his movement. And why did history move so slowly, besides Saint Paul, in understanding a message of spiritual liberation?
Astral Guest--Jack Kilmon, author of 'The Yeshuines'.
Topics Discussed:
--The evidence that Josephus actually believed in a historical Jesus.
--Archeological data on the travels of Jesus, including the existence of Nazareth.
--How Astronomy and Astrology point to a factual birth of Jesus.
--The Gospel of Thomas: one of the keys in finding the historical Jesus, since it was written by major Apostle that wasn’t Thomas and later corrupted by the Gnostics.
--Evidence outside the Canonicals that point to a carnal Messiah.
--Why the Jesus movement fail in the end, including the rise and fall of James the Brother of the Lord.
--How Paul, despite his radical theology, might have saved the Jesus movement that was fading away.
And much more, of course! If Jesus comes a second time, my advice is to look busy.
